Low Volume PCB Assembly Service

Low volume PCB assembly services at low-cost prices. We also offer low volume, high-mix PCB assembly services with non-minimum orders.

What is Low Volume PCB Assembly?

Low volume PCB assembly is a custom-made solution with well-defined flexibility for connecting parts to a relatively small number of bare circuit boards. If you are planning for a New Product Introduction (NPI), a low volume PCB assembly is quite essential. Remember, nobody longs for a situation where they have to deal with errors after a high volume production run.

On the other hand, you could be a small-volume printed circuit board maker who plans to create small batch boards quickly and cost-effectively while maintaining high quality. Generally, those are the reasons why you need a dealer that offers low volume PCB assembly services, like MKTPCB.

What is Low-Volume PCB Assembly?

At MKTPCB, we have a state-of-the-art infrastructure that supports low volume PCB assembly, low volume PCB prototypes, low-cost printed circuit board assembly, and low-cost PCB manufacturing that satisfies your needs. Our facilities in Shenzhen, China, are fully equipped to handle high quality and small-batch high-mix PCB assembly requirements. Besides, we also provide turnkey PCB assembly service at low-cost prices.

MKTPCB Low-Volume PCB Assembly Services

Below are some of the service offerings that enable us to solve the low-volume printed circuit board assembly needs of our customers:

Design for Manufacturing Services (DFM)

We leverages DFM services to avoid interruptions in the production process and accelerate product delivery.

We carry out a comprehensive analysis of our customers’ documents, like Bill of Materials (BOM), circuit diagrams, Gerber files, assembly drawings, and others. We also review the customer’s component list to verify its accuracy before sourcing components. Furthermore, we use solder masks to enhance yield rates.

DFM services enable us to minimize errors and keep production expenses low. Eventually, this allows our customers to access our products and services at cost-effective prices.

Pre-production PCB Samples

We can create small circuit board batches and send them to the customer for review before embarking on mass production of the actual order. This service offering helps us to mitigate production risks, errors, and extra costs related to rework.

Once the customer approves the sample, we inspect and test all the sourced components and materials through our rigorous five-step testing process. We only source circuit boards from external vendors under customer requirements. Otherwise, we have our in-house quality products that we highly recommend to our PCB assembly clients.

Design for Testing (DFT)

DFT services help us to advise our customers on placing test points in the circuit boards. As a result, they can make the right decisions on fixtures, probe types, and the restrictions of testing processes. The test also establishes the functionality of testing requirements, diagnostic manuals, problem identification, and other references.

MKTPCB's Prototyping Options for Low-Volume PCB Assembly

PCBs We Manufacture and Assemble

1. Sequential

Here, we integrate and test all the cycles with a single or handful of design changes. Sequential prototyping is the most common option of design verification.

2. Parallel

We use parallel prototyping to minimize manufacturing runs. Parallel prototyping is achieved using several design changes in a small number of PCBs and testing all the alternatives before the next production run. We only use these alternatives in assembly, and we fabricate all our bare boards using a single procedure.

3. Do not place (DNP)

To test a particular part or sub-circuit, it is essential to avoid placing other parts that may make testing and troubleshooting impossible or more complicated.

4. Using multiple variants

As an alternative to DNP, we mount various sets of components to different PCBs to streamline testing.

5. Using leaded solder instead of lead-free solder

During PCB prototyping, a rework is essential, which is easier to conduct using leaded solder than with lead-free solder.

6. Using a reworkable surface finish

During prototyping, it is easier to apply a surface finish than to rework.

Using Low Volume PCB Assembly to Prove Your Design

Throughout your daily activities, sometimes you must show that you can perform a specific process or thing. In some of these cases, you may be the only one taking part. For instance, when taking a driving test. However, in other cases, you may be a part of a bigger team that jointly must demonstrate mastery of the process or activity.

The development of a PCB is one instance where a team must demonstrate the accuracy of their design. Remember, the process of proving a functional circuit board design comprises three phases: design, manufacturing, and testing.

Using Low-Volume PCB Assembly to Prove Your Design

For PCBs of any grade or complexity, development is a cyclic process comprising multiple circuit board prototype iterations. To a large extent, this process’ effectiveness is influenced by how far you maximize your PCB’s assembly’s flexibility.

Assembly, though profoundly well-defined regarding the steps, offers a high degree of flexibility. If exploited well, it can increase the efficiency of your PCB development.

For any PCB development, there are basics of quality board design that must be considered. In PCB assembly, apart from proper component placement, you must acknowledge the different options available to accelerate your design verification, which is often referred to as PCB prototyping or the design, build, and test duplication process.

Benefits of Low-Volume PCB Assembly

Benefits of Low Volume PCB Assembly

1. Perfect for New Product Introduction (NPI)

Low volume PCBA is suitable for clients who are launching new products or startups that are conducting new launches. The small number of PCBs ensures adequate scope for testing the product efficacy before starting large-scale production.

2. PCB Testing

The second benefit of low volume PCB assembly is that it allows you to conduct detailed tests. This, in turn, brings a good understanding of the changes that you need to make to produce the highest quality products.

3. Low-cost printed circuit board

With a PCB service provider specializing in small batch PCB assembly, like MKTPCB, you also get to enjoy cost-effective prices. We have our in-house facilities and good relationships with vendors and shipping companies, ensuring smooth and cost-effective PCB assembling services.
